A uniform and weapons are not required for the first few lessons. However, it is appreciated if you can contact us ahead of your first class so that spare weapons can be arranged.

Two students perform a kata next to a mirror, where the reflection of several other pairs can be seen practicing different techniques. Of the frontmost pair, Shi Jo holds the jo away from their body in order to block a cut aimed at their side. Two pairs perform kata side-by-side; in the foreground, Shi Jo has stepped off the center line to pin Uchi Tachi at hibara (the hip) to stop their cut short.
